This young man visited my clinic in Lucknow from Jamshedpur after being diagnosed with milky urine disease, chyluria.
The patient was passing absolute milk colour urine and was carrying picture of that. He also suffered from proteinuria ( protein leakage in urine), which is the most common accompanying symptom of the disease.
He lost 6-7 KG of weight due to this trouble and met a famous urologist from the city.
The urologist prescribed Hetrazan, the most widely used medication for this disorder, but that didn’t help him. Further, they suggested endoscopic betadine instillation – sclerotherapy, which he refused out of fear and also about its efficacy. He also took homoeopathic treatment from a reputed homoeopath, but containing various medicines, including mother tinctures, but that also didn’t help him.
