A 45-year-old female patient from Bhopal presented with a complaint of unilateral nasal discharge persisting since January 2025. The discharge was continuous and increased noticeably when she bent her head forward.
Before approaching us, the patient had tried both homoeopathic and allopathic treatments, but without any relief. Concerned about the persistent nature of the complaint, her husband contacted me for an online consultation via Zoom.
During the video consultation, the nasal discharge was clearly visible, especially on stooping, which raised immediate suspicion. Based on the history, clinical observation, and my past clinical experience, I strongly suspected the condition to be CSF rhinorrhea (cerebrospinal fluid leak).
During the Zoom consultation, I strongly advised diagnostic investigations to confirm the diagnosis and rule out complications. However, these were declined by the husband.
Based on clinical judgment and observation alone, I explained the seriousness of the condition and shared my provisional diagnosis of CSF leak. I also explained the homoeopathic approach, including the concept of energy transmission through hair, which initially met with resistance from the patient.
However, after observing positive results in another similar case, the patient’s husband gained confidence and agreed to proceed with the homoeopathic treatment. They send the hair by speed post and we have started the treatment on 21 July after a detailed case history.
This case highlights the importance of clinical observation, experience-based diagnosis, patient education, and building trust, especially in complex conditions where patients may initially be hesitant about treatment choices
After 5 Months and 18 Days
Follow-Up (5 January 2026)
The patient reported complete cessation of CSF nasal discharge. She has experienced no migraine episodes for a long time. Her general health is stable, and she feels comfortable and confident with the improvement. No new complaints were reported.
